Every substance has a pH. Based on the pH, it is divided into acidic or basic. pH can range from 1 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. If the pH of a substance is less than 7, it is said to be acidic. If the pH of the substance is more than 7, it is said to be alkaline.

Our urine is slightly acidic. It has a pH of around 6 on an average. But, some conditions can make our urine become alkaline. If the urine is alkaline, we can see some amorphous phosphate sediments in it. They appear like granular or grainy white flecks in urine.

Alkaline urine can be caused by many different causes. Some of the most common causes of an alkaline urine include urinary tract infections, kidney disorders, and excessive vomiting. It can also be caused by some other serious conditions like respiratory alkalosis, pyloric stenosis, etc.

Sometimes alkaline pH of the urine can be caused by taking some foods like fruits and vegetables which affect the pH levels of the urine.
